Sonia Barber is an internationally recognised lawyer and governance adviser, and member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb) with over two decades of experience advising businesses, investors and family offices across Australia and the Middle East. Her career has spanned private practice, corporate leadership and investment fund management, with expertise in governance, corporate structuring, cross-border transactions, regulatory compliance and complex commercial matters. She has advised organisations across healthcare, hospitality, defence, energy, construction, engineering and other sectors, helping clients navigate a broad range of legal, operational and commercial challenges.
As Co-Founder of Quantum Innovation Fund Management, Sonia played a key role in developing the fund’s legal framework, investor documentation and governance policies. Her experience includes serving as Partner at global law firm Squire Patton Boggs, Senior Counsel to a prominent Middle Eastern law firm, and Group General Counsel to a major Qatari family holding company. Drawing on extensive international legal and governance experience, Sonia provides leadership in risk management, compliance, governance and corporate advisory matters.
